Trips For Kids Harrisburg made nine trips with 109 kids this year. Our clients included the Boys and Girls Club, St. Barnabas Center, HICO and LOOP BnG. The operation was moved to City Island temporarily, and rides were lost when the rising waters of the Susquehanna River caused a hasty relocation.

2016 Summary

January 14, 2017 at 1:20 PM | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 Comment

This year we took nine trips with 91 riders, making our six year totals, 67 trips with 557 riders. Clients this year were old friends HICO, LOOP BnG, UMC NC TECH, St. Barnabas Center and the Boys and Girls Club, but we also added the Camp Curtin Academy for what amounted to a field trip out of school.

Many of our 2016 summer program trips were cancelled this year because of oppressive heat and humidity. We are looking for new clients in 2017 to serve during the spring and fall.

Our parent organization was busy providing new logos to all chapters and streamlining the year end reporting processes.

We’d like to thank the family and friends of Kevin Breckenmaker. This past July, the family designated TFK of Harrisburg for memorial contributions resulting in donations exceeding $1,300.

This past fall, volunteers from Quality Bicycle Products tuned all the bicycles in the garage. We recently acquired six new Raleigh bicycles from the Pedal Pusher at a substantial discount. The bikes were assembled by QBP volunteers in Lancaster.

We are able to operate this chapter through the generosity of these donors and volunteers.
